Give Black Richmond is a hub designed to highlight Black-owned community organizations in the Richmond area.

Our goal is to make finding and supporting Black community organizations in the metro Richmond area easier.

 

Community organizations founded by Black people are 70% less likely to receive philanthropic funding from individuals, investors, or grant funding organizations.

 

WHY GIVE BLACK RICHMOND?

Give Black Richmond is a database designed to make finding and supporting Black community organizations in the metro Richmond area easier. We do not collect funds on behalf of any organizations, we are simply a hub working to remove the barriers that exist between Black-owned & Black-led community organizations and the people that want to support them. All of the organizations listed are committed to doing community-focused work that impacts a variety of spaces to include Arts & Culture, Food Justice, Education, Whole-body Health & Wellness, Criminal Justice Reform, LGBTQIA+ Affairs, Environmental Justice, and more.  

One thing that differentiates Give Black Richmond from some other sites is that not every organization listed holds a 501(c)3 designation. We are aware that obtaining an IRS non-profit designation is often the first funding hurdle that smaller organizations encounter… read more

To equip neighbors in historically marginalized communities to realize their vision for their neighborhoods, and prepare institutions to respond effectively.

The Collab Spot

A coworking space that is owned, run and geared towards the support and advocacy of the Queer Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) community, a safe(r) community space that is geared towards the LGBTQ+ community, social justice-minded folks & Black and Brown people.

Dream City

Dream City is dedicated to providing BLS training in CPR/AED, First Aid, and BBP in the most convenient ways for both businesses and individuals. We have flexible training schedules and modules with both online and in-person classes.

The Richmond Crusade for Voters

The purpose of the Richmond Crusade for Voters is to increase the voting strength of the African-American population of the City of Richmond and to improve the moral, social, economic, educational, and general welfare of all people.
